Handbook

Philosophy
of
Sarah’s Preschool

I am a learning center that fosters the physical, social, and emotional, intellectual, and creative growth of children. We will provide many opportunities to explore, discover, and experiment with a variety of materials in a safe environment.

I strive to provide a support system for both parents and children because parents are the first and most important teachers that a child can have. I believe that as I encourage interaction between parents and children and in building a close relationship with the family that I can enhance the child’s self-esteem, independence and initiative.

I believe that a learning center should serve as a model for human relationships of what goes on in the real world. Therefore, I strive to set a positive example for all who attend my program. I stress cooperation and avoid racism and sexist roles. I strive to help each child experience success and develop positive feelings about themselves and those around them.

I also recognize the difficulty that child can have when they are separated from the their family during the day; therefore, I strive my hardest to make my home an environment that is homey and fun. Each child is special and needs care and special attention each day. Over all your child will be free to play, speak, think, work, learn, and most importantly grow.

About Me!!

After posting the last one I realized I should let you all know a little bit more about me...so here it goes...

My name is Sarah Brown. I was born in Mountain Home, and at the age of 5 my family moved back to Twin Falls where I have lived ever since. Minus a few years to attend college in Rexburg and 2 years in Utah. I love Idaho and Twin Falls. I graduated from CSI in 2004 with an AAS in Early Childhood Education. In 2003 my mother and I opened up a small Child Care Center in my parents home and ran it until 2007 when I decided to close it to expand my horizon and accepted a nanny position in Sandy, Utah. I was a nanny for them for a little over a year and then moved back to Twin. I was able to get a job with the TFSD working at Lincoln with the Kindergarteners as their aide. It was a great year and I learned a ton. This was only a year position so as the year started to come to a close I began my search for a new job, and found one working at KinderCare Learning Center in North Salt Lake. I moved down there and loved working in this postion but sadly it came to an end in April.

Opening up a preschool has always been my dream and I am very excited to being able to do it, in an area that I love and with people that I love all around me. I hope that through reading this that you have been able to get a small feel of the love that I have for children and the dedication that I put into being able to serve them.
